RiverClay’s diverse neighborhood community, affordability and proximity to downtown, shopping, restaurants, and sports centers make it today’s ideal central location. But the area is rich with yesterday’s history as well.
This area became part of the incorporated Town of Highlands when Denver City and the city of Auraria merged in 1861. Highlands was founded as an elite suburb, a residential community where men would work their days in Denver and retire for the evenings to their families and the cooler, fresher air of the Highlands.
Just across from RiverClay’s distinctive front door is Denver’s seven-acre Jefferson Park. Dedicated in the early 1900’s Jefferson Park was named after President Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the Democratic Party. To the east of RiverClay, Denver’s downtown skyline illustrates the best of urban architecture from the turn of the century to today.
The area’s diversity reflects turn-of-the-century Irish, German, and English immigration and, following World War II, an influx of Latino residents. Homes spanning the decades, from the turn of the Century to the turn of the Millennium, can be found throughout the Jefferson Park and Highlands neighborhoods.
RiverClay Condominiums continues the proud traditions and history of the Highlands and Jefferson Park communities.
